About About the New York Jets

The New York Jets represent the New York metropolitan area from the Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford New Jersey. The team made playoffs in 1968 for the first time and they went on to defeat the Baltimore Colts in the Super Bowl III, making the Jets the first American Football League team to defeat a National Football League team in an AFL-NFL world championship game. The New York Jets have made playoffs thirteen times and made it to the American Football Conference Championship Game four times since 1968.
The New York Jets are based in Florham Park, New Jersey but represent the New York metropolitan area. Established in the 1959-60 season they were original know ans the Titans of New York, it wasn't until 1963 that they took on their current name of the New York Jets. The team was an original member of the AFL until it later joined the NFL in the merger of the AFL and the NFL in 1970.
