About The Peoples Court
The Peoples Court originally aired in 1981 and was tapped in Los Angeles, it was the first reality court show to not use actors but show real cases with the actual parties involved. The show has since moved production to Midtown New York and is hosted by Marilyn Milian. The small claims court only deals with matters up to $7,500, with the exception of certain cases like a case where the plaintiff had four separate lawsuits against the defendant for a total of $20,000.
The Peoples court is the series that launched the entire court show craze, and now you can enjoy it live from the audience. The show draws the most compelling, unique, and thought provoking cases filed by ordinary people at civil courts across the country.
