The New York Knickerbockers are one of the two teams of the original National Basketball Association to still be located in its original city. Commonly known as the Knicks, the team plays their home games at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan New York City, where they are based since 1946. With more than sixty years of legacy's the New York Knicks have featured six of the 50 greatest players in NBA history those include Walt Fraizer, Earl Monroe, and Jerry Lucas.

The team was successful in their early years and climber quickly to the top winning their first NBA World Championship by 1970. Although the New York Knicks have only made it to the playoffs twice in the past decade they continue to face the millennium with a promising future.
